When you are traveling in the Lapeer area with our 30 passenger party bus, we'd love for you to check out a few of our favorite bars and restaurants in the 48446 zip code.

Whenever you hear Dagwood and Deli in the same sentence, you know you are in for something good. Dagwood's Deli here in Lapeer is a must-visit, with an array of sandwiches that will really knock your socks off. Large portions, high quality ingredients, and all served so fresh. What more can we say? We also very highly recommend their muffins and coffee, and it's truly hard to think of a better way to start off your day in Lapeer. The perfect complement to a visit to Dagwood's is a visit to Blondie's next door, where you'll find all kinds of great desserts ranging from ice cream to fudge to caramel corn! Wow. Visiting these two establishments you'll feel like you have stepped back in time. Very memorable, don't miss it!

In today's world, it's hard to find a cheap meal that's truly delicious, but at Sam's Coney Island they somehow make that possible. When you see the prices on their menu, you'll wonder if you accidentally stepped into a time machine! Wow. We'd most highly recommend the double cheeseburger combo, and definitely get that with the cole slaw because it's just too good to be believed. The fish and chips is something that we have enjoyed many times too, and it's on par with the best restaurants in the area that are known for their fish and chips, and you're getting it at a much lower price here. Unlike most coney islands, they do accept credit cards here, and that's a major plus in our book!

Empire Wok Buffet is one of our favorite places to dine after a hard day of work, because you can really fill up the tummy and the soul with some really fantastic comfort food! We definitely don't have enough room to list all the delicious Asian dishes that they pack their buffet with daily, but we can assure you that they have all your favorites and then some. All your favorite hunan and szechuan dishes are here, lots of great noodle dishes and veggie dishes, and even some American fare for those in your party who aren't in the mood for Chinese food. They've really got you covered here. Be sure to give this restaurant a try anytime you've got a big appetite and really want to get your money's worth!

Wah Wong Restaurant makes our list because of its charming retro ambiance (read: it has never really been updated, but we love it that way!). The old school flair is what makes it so comfortable, and it's also evidence of just how long this place has been around. Restaurants don't last that long without being something truly special! The spring rolls are the perfect starter to any meal, and we love the egg rolls as well. The sweet and sour pork is one of our favorite dishes here, and we'd also recommend the general tso's chicken even if you don't ordinarily order that elsewhere. This isn't the most authentic Chinese food in the area (keep reading below to find the restaurant that has that as their claim to fame!), but it is one of the best.

Fat Boys Bar & Grill is one of our favorite dive bars and biker bars, the kind of place where you can just relax and be yourself, and enjoy an amazing burger. The drinks are good and strong here, and never watered down, and you won't have to pay an arm and a leg for them like you will elsewhere. Also don't miss those delicious onion rings that they're known for! Despite being a dive bar, there's plenty to keep you busy, including pool tables, dart boards, shuffleboard, pinball, jukebox, and even an older model of Golden Tee. They even accept credit cards. We keep trying to find a downside to this place, but one simply doesn't exist. Great crowds, friendly staff, and always a great time to be had!

If you're a fan of Cracker Barrel types of restaurants, you will definitely want to check out Past Tense Country Store & Cider Mill Restaurant. It's got the best of both worlds just like the Cracker Barrel, half country store, half restaurant. It's especially cool to stop in during your trip to get some goodies for your kids at the store, and if you're not too far from home, you can also bring them a great bite to eat. Souvenirs and great eats, now what's better than that? Our favorite thing on the menu is actually the pizza, which is just so delectably good! That might not be the first thing you think of eating at a country restaurant, but trust us when we say it is mouth wateringly good! Service can be a touch slow, so if you're in a rush, this one's a no-go.

Something about having the word "express" in the name of the restaurant doesn't make us automatically think "authentic," and yet Wing Wah Express is in fact one of the most authentic Chinese restaurants that we have ever visited in the entire state! It's a joy to watch them prepare all the food fresh, from the freshest and highest quality ingredients. They seem to be best known for their almond chicken, and although that's clearly the star of the menu, all the other offerings are of that same amazing quality too. Note that if you're used to Americanized Chinese food, you may not immediately take to the more natural and authentic flavors that you will find here. If you love the real thing, you will love this restaurant.

Apple Tree Family Dining is one of those family restaurants where you know that you can go with your good friends or your family, and just relax and enjoy your meal. Instead of spending time trying to impress you with decor or overwhelming you with service that's just "too much," they focus on the food here, and it is truly top notch. Our favorites are the saganaki, the lemon rice soup, the Greek salads, and their incredibly flavorful gyro sandwiches. We just can't get enough of all the great homecooked Greek food here. We're also big fans of the meatloaf and veggie lasagna! Be sure to try a few things here, we're certain that you'll love them all.

Blind Fish gets rave reviews from seafood lovers all around, and if you happen to live in or near the Lapeer area then you are really one of the lucky ones. The lobster and crab are two of our favorite options, and of course we love the fish and chips that they are perhaps best known for! Kids and adults alike go wild for the chicken strips here, which is one of the things we'd never think to order, but they are so juicy and mouth wateringly good here. Everybody that we know goes crazy for the strawberry cheesecake for dessert too, and we'd very highly recommend that after your meal if you have somehow managed to save any room! It's a feat in itself. Everything here is just fantastic, including the ambiance and the service!
825 S Main St - 810.664.6200
E G Nick's Restaurant & Tavern has been a favorite of ours for a very long time, and we love to recommend it to our customers when they're traveling here in Lapeer, because there's just no better place to get a fresh and delicious meal at a price that's right. They have one of the most unique burger lists that you will ever find, and for just eight dollars you can truly craft your dream burger! We love to pair that with a crisp Greek salad, perhaps shared among friends, because you also have fries and coleslaw coming with that burger and you're apt to get too full if you scarf the salad down on your own! We recommend staying a while to enjoy the bar area and the fireplace if it's winter. Very highly recommended, for dine-in and curbside service too!
