Perhaps you have heard of El Oasis, that little Mexican food stand here in Lansing? It's pretty much the go-to place in this area for a great, fast, delicious meal! And we are absolutely addicted to the wonderful flavors that they offer here. The carne asada tastes so good in the special burrito, and you also can't go wrong with a chorizo special burrito! Really memorable and flavorful. The sopes and tostadas al pastor are also some of our favorite things. Be sure to ask for the green sauce that they are known for, because you really haven't dined at El Oasis until you have had it! And of course make sure to order a traditional bottle of mandarin flavored Jarritos to go with your meal! So good! Always great service too.

Thai Food from Lamai's Kitchen is always a delightful dining experience. This is one of the most unique and refreshing restaurants that we have been to in the area, and we have had nothing but pleasant times here. The homestyle lunch buffet is really a haven of delicious Thai comfort foods, and the items that we really fell in love with include the tom yum soup, the stuffed eggplant, and the spring rolls. If you do order the tom yum, just be wary of the large ginger chunks and the large pieces of bay leaves. The broth is so excellent but you do have to be careful with those sharp leaves. The ambiance is just wonderful here, and so is the super friendly service. Very highly recommended and definitely one of our favorite restaurants in the area.

If you have been seeking a really great Irish pub in Lansing, you have got to check out Claddagh Irish Pub! We've been coming to this place for years for their sensational fish and chips, but that's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the amazing flavors you will experience here. The clam chowder is a big hit with everyone that we know, and how about that monte cristo. Wow. The meatloaf melt is the absolute top of the heap when it comes to comfort food, and even the chicken tenders are a cut above the rest. The steak salads are one of our favorite options for lunch, and no matter what we order to eat, we always pair it with a wonderful Irish coffee. What could be better than that?

PF Chang's is one of the few chain restaurants that we always love to recommend because it's just so fun for dates and for get togethers with friends. We love the dim ambiance and all the over the top decor, but of course the food is the star of the show as it should be. All of the noodle dishes are rated highly here, and you cannot go wrong with any of their healthier selections either, which are prominently displayed on the menu. If you are on a gluten-free diet for any reason, you'll be glad to know that they have an entire separate menu for you to browse, and all of the dishes on it are just as good as the ones on the main menu! You'll wonder how they do it! Very highly recommended for a great meal any night of the week, and not a bad stop for lunch either!

Troppo is one of the more upscale restaurants on this list, and in fact it is probably the most upscale restaurant in Lansing. You'll want to dress to the nines when you come into this restaurant, and really soak up that high class ambiance. It's gorgeous. The white chicken pizza is one of the most beloved dishes here, and everybody loves the butternut squash soup to start things off. We tend to opt for the portabello mushroom appetizer ourselves. You can't beat the flavor of that amazing dish. They have a wonderful menu of specialty drinks, and the one that we love the best is the mandarin martini. Really a very memorable flavor and something that we'd travel far for! Troppo gets one of our highest recommendations ever.

Many in southeast Michigan will point you to Pizza Papalis if you want an amazing deep dish pizza, but did you know that you can get a deep dish pizza that's really out of this world right here in Lansing at Deluca's Restaurant? It's what they're known for, and it is sensational. Many opt for the meat filled varieties of pizza here, but our top choice is without a doubt that spinach pizza! That was the way we first experienced deep dish pizza and it will always be our favorite. They really do a fantastic job on it here. The breadsticks with cheese are really delicious, and we recommend their salads for the vegetarian and vegan crowd too. You will love the cozy ambiance and the friendly waitstaff. Deluca's is very highly recommended!

Soup Spoon Cafe gets one of our top recommendations for a great breakfast or lunch in the Lansing area. When you're on the road with us, we recommend that you give them a try for their unbelievable seafood chowder! That's not all they've got here though... of course they are known for the breakfast, including super fluffy eggs and delicious toast that will really make your mouth water. All your favorite breakfasts are here, and without any of that not-so-appetizing chain restaurant ambiance! If you're there in the evening you may want to try a cocktail or two, and we'd steer you toward their Dark and Stormy, which is something you certainly won't find anywhere else. So good! You will love the food, the drinks, and the service!

Lovers of pancakes will do well to head over to Sawyer's Gourmet Pancake House asap! This place has the widest variety of pancakes that you will find in this area of Michigan. The banana pecan pancakes are one of the top picks according to our friends, but we go wild for the peanut butter and banana french toast, personally! The strawberry french toast is a close second. When you're there for lunch you'll love their hamburgers, and our favorite option has got to be the olive hamburger with sweet potato french fries. It's truly the perfect combination of flavors, and definitely fits our definition of comfort food. We've had so many wonderful breakfasts and lunches here, and we recommend that you do the same!

If you seek delicious Mexican food and wonderful outdoor seating for those warm summer months, Pablo's Panaderia is our top recommendation. The al pastor tacos, carne asada tacos, and pollo tacos are our favorite things on the menu, and you can opt for chorizo too if that's more your style! The ambiance here is casual yet very nicely decorated, and we enjoy spending time with our friends and family here. The service is always fantastic, and you never find yourself waiting for a refill or for someone to take your order. They're fast, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu too. And as we said, the outdoor patio is really something to enjoy when the weather is warm enough for it! Pablo's is all around wonderful!

Golden Harvest Restaurant is one of the most unique restaurants that you will ever visit! They have some truly different offerings that you just won't find elsewhere, for instance the fruity pebbles french toast! That's an acquired taste of course, but if you love trying new things, we suggest that one because it's become one of our favorites! We won't spoil the rest of the menu for you, but just know that it's filled with crazy taste surprises like that one! It's also cool to come in just to enjoy the warm and cozy ambiance, and that's definitely contributed to by all those knick knacks that line the walls. Very charming and unique, just like the food! And the staff is friendly and caring, and fast bringing your food too. Very fun for the kids!
